The Hotel was built in 1912 by Major Archie MacKinnon and was originally named Dunringell after his clan’s old fort near Elgol. Respected as an ideal example of a Scottish country house, the MacKinnon has ten rooms in the main building. A further eight rooms in the Hunting Lodge provides the perfect setting for the romantic at heart! Overlooked by the magnificent Sgurr na Coinnich mountains and set in over four acres of magnificent gardens, the hotel has been awarded three stars by the Tourist Board. |
One of the world’s top 100 small hotels according to that bible of style, The Conde Naste Traveller, Kinloch Lodge is just 15 minutes from the Skye Bridge to the north or 20 minutes from the Armadale/Mallaig Ferry to the South. Set amid lime and birch trees, Kinloch Lodge is blessed with a wildly romantic and beautiful setting. A haven of tranquility at the water’s edge, it was built in the early 1600s and was originally one of the shooting lodges on the once enormous Macdonald estates. |
